About Erika Yoney, PMHNP-BC
As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), Dr. Yoney is committed to providing high quality, whole person mental health services to patients of all ages. Erika values patient directed, highly individualized care that honors the unique needs of each patient across their lifetime. Erika’s practice acknowledges that mental health is completely connected to our physical, social and spiritual well-being and incorporates all these aspects into patient care.
Education and Clinical Interests
Erika graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She then obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus.
For much of her career, Erika has worked as a nurse in the school setting at the state and local level. This has shaped her commitment to providing meaningful access mental health care in the places where people live, work and play, not just in clinics. This has also shaped her passion for prevention and timely intervention for mental health needs. She is especially interested in supporting children, teenagers and parents who may be struggling with their mental health. Through her professional and volunteer experiences Erika has also had the privilege of supporting new to country individuals in navigating mental health needs.
Licensure and Memberships
Erika is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is licensed to practice through the North Dakota and Minnesota Boards of Nursing. She is also an active member of both the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the International Society for Psychiatric Nursing.
Personal Interests and Activities
Erika enjoys spending time with her family and rowdy dogs. She loves to spend time outdoors at the lake or camping. She has a particular soft spot for local football and theater. To relax she enjoys reading, yoga and a whole lot of diamond art.
